Our story

Located in the beautiful Willamette Valley, Spring Valley Dairy is the quintessential local dairy distributor. Founded in 1981, Spring Valley was purchased by Jayne and Gordy Hoy in 1985, and has grown from a two-person team operation based in the living room of their Silverton home to an operation with over 1500 customers, 100 employees with two primary distribution centers, and three satellite locations spanning the entire Willamette Valley as well portions of Southwest Washington, Central Oregon, and the Oregon Coast. Spring Valley’s exponential growth has been grounded in providing locally-provided, environmentally-sound products in a culture that supports regional economic strength.

Over the years, Spring Valley Dairy has grown to distribute products from a vast array of sources. However, despite this diversity, we strive to closely monitor the quality of those products and the integrity of our suppliers. Our fluid milk suppliers — Darigold, Alpenrose, Lochmead Dairy, and Lucerne — have been in dairy production business locally for decades, and our longstanding relationships with each allows us to deliver the highest quality product at optimum value.

Our customers are of utmost importance to Spring Valley, whether in retail stores, restaurants, schools, coffee stands, hospitals, care homes, cafeterias, or any institution that defies easy definition, it is our objective to provide you with invariably outstanding service.
